Do You Believe?—by Mike Masola

August 1, 2022

Sermon summary:

John 11: 17–27 Martha believed Jesus had the power to raise Lazarus.

Jesus has the power to act and get involved even though the odds were against it. We matter to Jesus, even though it's hard to believe when we go through hardship.

Sometimes we believe on an intellectual level, but limit him in practice. We believe but don't expect it to really happen. Do I still believe he can do the impossible?

Where is your faith and belief?

What happened to your spiritual dreams? Stretch your faith, renew your belief. God wants to act.

Psalm 78:9–22

V12–16 God did amazing miracles but the people forgot it, and asked: "Can God also do this?" Although we have the physical evidence, we still doubt.

How do we get to a place where we believe?

  1. Choose to believe in the power of God's word before it happens.
  2. Remember what God has done. 1 Samuel 17:34–37.
  3. Be inspired by the word. Jeremiah 15:16 God's word gives great joy. Seek inspiration to renew your faith. Let's not lower the bar of what God can do.

Following Jesus comes with the cost of persecution and rejection. If we face none, it may reveal compromise or conformity to the world. Are we influencing culture—or being influenced by it? True faith shares Christ boldly, just as the early disciples did. Let’s trust God with courage and live boldly for the One we serve.
Sacrificial Giving
June 1, 2025
Giving is a powerful expression of worship and trust in God. Though He doesn’t need our money, our generosity reflects the posture of our hearts. We honour God by giving from our best, without strings attached, and keeping the promises we've made. Giving is to God—not to man—and it supports the church as a place of spiritual growth for our families and future generations.
